Out of almond butter on a Saturday morning and don’t want to run to the store? Never fear – you can totally make almond butter at home! Making almond butter at home totally makes you feel like a superstar, but shhhh it’s so easy to make! The taste is absolutely amazing and the price is right; high quality almond butters can cost $15 at the store, but making them at home is quick and cost-effective. I tried adding maple syrup to my almond butter this weekend and oh my goodness was this stuff addictive! Check it out!
- 1 1/4 raw
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- Preheat your oven to 350*
- Road the almonds for about 5 minutes, then remove from the oven. Careful not to overcook them as they're best lightly toasted.
- Add the roasted almonds to your food processor when they're cooled. Next add the maple syrup and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. You should run the food processor for about 10-15 minutes to get a butter texture. The almonds will start out as a meal and will all the sudden release their oils after they start blending. You might have to stop and move some of the mixture from the side of the food processor back to the blade and that's totally okay.
- Store in an airtight container (I like mason jars!) for up to 2 weeks.
